It’s important to talk

Mental health and substance use-related challenges can affect anyone.

Our friends. Our coworkers. Our teammates.

The reality is, many people live with these problems in silence.

Often there are signs. A close friend seems less social than usual. Maybe they’re having difficulty with daily tasks and activities. Or they’re spending more time using alcohol or drugs. And still, some may not show any signs they’re struggling at all.

That’s why we’re partnering with the B.C. Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions on the #YouCanTalkToMe contest – to start conversations and show that no one needs to face mental health and substance use-related challenges alone. By talking, we can let people know we’re there for them, supporting them to get the help they need and reducing the stigma that can stop them from reaching out.

Take a pledge and let people know that when it comes to mental health and substance use, it’s important to talk.
